The usual practice is to go to Egypt in organized tour. Taxi : Cairo airport to downtown: 80 Le. We went by bus 7. The price is 1LE, but as a newcomer started charging us more. Welcome to Egypt.

Islamic Cairo: Khan el Khalili area. Mosque El Azhar (free).

- Walking down the main street and parallel to the Hakim mosque.
- At night the main street is illuminated.
- Further south (better days, with many markets, very popular), followed by streets to Ibn Tulun Mosque. Go to the minaret for a few lire. We do not enter the mosque Hassan orCitadel (Both subject to fees).
Other places to go:
- Walking around the edge of the Nile, from the museum, north and south.
- North Wekalet market of El Balah.
- City of the dead among the caliphs and the mausoleum of Imam Shafi mausoleum.

Arqueological Sites
The price of all inputs is 50% discount with ISIC student card. We had it, but say that in Cairo there are places where you would take the photo only. Depending on what is going to visit around the country, justifies removal. The prices indicated are no student discount.
Pyramids of Giza : 60LE. To get there, we took bus (less than 1LE). You can also meter (1LE) + bus. To enter the pyramid of Cheops must pay additional 120LE. We did not go.
Recommendation: We keep the ticket and re-entered the journey's end. We said we had come to buy into the pyramid of Chephren (cost 30LE) and showing the 2 tickets, we again without problem. They tend to "rotate" the entry, or Chephren and Menkaure. It is worth the visit inside and not come out as expensive as Cheops.
Egyptian Museum : 60LE. We recommend seeing before going to Luxor to impress more.
Pyramids of Saqqara and Dahshur (the oldest). Are 20 km south of Giza. Recommendation : Build group in the hotel taxi for sharing expenses. We went with 2 people. First we visited Saqqara. You have to go by metro to the last station and from there take taxi (40 Le). We visit the interior of Saqquara (input 60LE). Spectacular and the interior is very different from those of Giza. As few people visit the pyramids, there are plenty of taxis for the return. You need to negotiate. I got it for 50 Saqquara taxi to go to Giza expected to visit the pyramid of Dahshur . The entrance to Dahshur costs 30 and you pay him extra for the taxi 2LE.
